Rething Moldova-the European commission supports Moldovan Government`s perform programme

Today`s forum is about one of the EU`s fundamental values: solidarity. We gathered today with other donors to mobilize support for the Moldovan Government`s plan Rethink Moldova. Good progress was registered in the first 100 days + of the Moldovan government in terms of reforms carried out despite difficult internal and external conditions. We have a clear and joint target: political association and economic integration between EU and Moldova. Tomorrow, we will hold the second round of negotiations for the Association Agreement which will include the steps we need to take towards this objective. I am encouraged by the Moldovan Government`s commitment to continue these ambitious reforms in the field of public administration, economic recovery, independence of the judiciary, fight against corruption, to name just a few. These reforms will have our collective support. The EU will substantially step up its support to Moldova, one of the top recipients of our funds under the European Neighbourhood Policy. 273 Million Euro are earmarked for grants over the period 2011-2013, an increase by almost 75 %. This will be complemented by a macro financial aid to be approved in the weeks to come as well as by resources for regional and inter regional programs. This is a tangible evidence of the commitment on our side and a clear signal of our trust in the concepts highlighted in Rethink Moldova programme.

Chamber of Comert got a new contract with a Belgian company, Giroma SA and start exporting wine from Purcari and Vartely

At the end of the year of 2009, Chamber of Commerce Moldo-Belgium strted the promotion of moldavian wine in Belgium. In 2010, after signing the contract with Cricova, Purcari and vartely was imported in Belgium an impressive number of diferents kind of wine and sparkling wine. At the same time we will promote on the Belgium market the other moldovian companies that are producing wine. The colaboration with Giroma SA, the company that imports moldavian wine in Belgium, is satisfied with this expirience and is looking forward to the next import. How has the situation in Moldova developed during the new power and what are AEI`s main goals and objectives? Last political year has been quite difficult for Moldova which, besides the world financial crisis, has experienced two exhausting election campaigns. Moreover, the Moldovan Parliament did not manage to elect the country`s president and thus conclude the central authority formation process. The long-drawn political battles and election race could not but affect the country`s social and economic development, making its situation challenged by the world financial crisis even more difficult. Thus, within nine months of 2009 the country`s GDP has reduced by 7.7% as against the same period of 2008; export and import have gone down by 24.2% and 36.9%, correspondingly. Within January-September 2009 fixed capital expenditures have decreased by 42.5%. Industrial production volumes have reduced by 24.3% in January-October 2009, and gross output in agriculture has reduced by 10.2% in the same period. The new government faced a hard challenge - to help bring the country out of the financial crisis, unblock economic processes for further development of the Republic of Moldova, ensure adequate activity of democratic institutes and bring Moldova as close to the EU as possible. Despite the major economic downturn, reduced production and investments and a budget deficit, results achieved during the short governance of AIE show that the new government managed to mitigate the consequences brought by the financial crisis and create the necessary conditions for future development of Moldova`s national economy. Arriving to power, Vladimir Filat`s coalition government has developed and approved the Economic Stabilization and Recovery Plan. It helped unblock relationships with development partners, as well as start implementing measures to stabilize public funds, restore economic growth and ensure an efficient and fair policy for social protection of our citizens. Since the very beginning of its activity one of the Government`s objectives has been to develop a realistic budget, for which purpose it has revised macroeconomic performances and the 2009 budget. The necessary expenditures have been adjusted to available funds and an optimum balance was ensured provided the crisis situation. Public budget, state social security budget and compulsory medical insurance budget indices have been revised within an updated macroeconomic framework. The Government managed to develop and approve the budget and tax policy and the public budget for 2010, ensuring a relative stability in this respect. The Law on Public Budget 2010 and the budget and tax policy that were developed and approved by the new government within a record short term provide the necessary instruments for this year`s activity and for a recovered economic growth. Among other successful actions of the new government are amendments to the legal system, autonomy of local authorities and efforts of Chisinau officials in regulating relationships with Transnistrian leaders. As for the situation with Transnistria, the new government has manifested strategic consistency, tactic flexibility and openness in solving problems with the country`s eastern areas, which enabled it to restore contacts both in the 5+2 format and in bilateral dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol. Another achievement is a number of measures such as a steady regime of benefits in the population documenting process in the eastern areas of Moldova. These measures will be continued in 2010 by means of social and infrastructure projects in the region.

Lufthasa launches Chisinau Flights

From 22 april direct daily services between Chisinau and Munich Today Lutfthasa announced its new sevices between Chisinau and Munich starting 22 april 2010. The new flights will be operated daily, first with a CRJ-900 aicraft, then from 1 lujy onwards with a larger Airbus A319. Both aircraft are providing seats in a business and Economy Class configuration. The new flight LH 3257 will leave Chisinau at 13:10 and arrive in Munich at 14:35. The fact that we pursue our active investment in Moldova despite the challenging global environment, demonstrates the strategic role of the country and the CentralEuropean region for Lufthasa. Marius Lazurca presents his credentials to Moldova`s interim president

Romania`s Ambassador in Chisinau Marius Lazurca on Tuesday presented his credentials to Moldova`s interim President Mihai Ghimpu. After the presentation of the letter of credence, the two officials had a meeting attended also by the foreign affairs minister of the Republic of Moldova, Iurie Leanca. Lazurca said that the main purpose of its commission is to support Moldova`s modernisation bid, and its getting closer to the European standards and regulations. «We have been looking forward to this event,» said Ghimpu, in his turn. «Your coming here will help us consolidate our relationships. Apart from the fact that we are two neighbour countries, we share the same blood, we speak the same language and we must work for the welfare of all Romanians,» said Ghimpu.

On 31 march 2010 in Republica Moldova arrived 14 companies from Belgium. Chamber of Commerce Moldo-Melgium and Euromol Management Consulting had organized the conference for their trade economic mision. The companies were with diferent kind of activities like: real estate, windows sills, wafle bisqute, solar stands. Respectively they had metings with the moldavian companies that had the same kind of activity. The conference was developed at VISPAS hotel, were the representatives of theflamanders companies had their B2B meatings with different companies from Republica Moldova having the gold to exprese their expirience. This conferens had the goal to discover new exclusive distribuitours and to make new partererships. It gave the oportunity to lots of companies to develop and for both sides this conference was benefic, because Belgium companies had the chanse to get new aquintances and may be in future they will get to the point of partenership. Also for moldavian companies is a possibility to be sponsored to move forward, to be acctive and develop their companies.
