Moldova

MoldovaRepublic of Moldova - neighbor country with the European Union, a bridge between the East and the West market. The free trade agreements and the evasion of double taxation bedded agreements regarding the promotion and the investments protection, offered advantages for the market acceleration from the European Union and Community of Independent States, are guest a part of the profits offered by the investors

Moldova has established a relatively open trade regime, today being signed more than 60 bi-lateral agreements. There have been concluded Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with all CIS countries, countries-members to the Stability Pact for South East Europe.

Moldova has acceded to the World Trade Organization in 2001. This brings new opportunities and also new responsibilities for enterprises, traders and authorities from Moldova. Also, preferential access to the EU, Switzerland, Japan, and USA has been granted to the Republic of Moldova under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP). Under this agreement, Moldovan exports receive partial or total exemption of customs tariffs. Additionally, Moldova is one of very few countries to qualify for additional privileges under the chapter on social incentives for respecting certain social clauses within the International Labour Organization agreements.

Moldova has Free Trade Agreements with Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Also, under the Memorandum of Understanding on Trade and Transport Facilitation in Southeast Europe (2000) it has also signed FTAs with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Romania and Serbia and Montenegro. The current FTA network offers free access on a market of over 320 million people.

Moldova has 24 bilateral agreements on trade and economic co-operation with Netherlands, Ukraine, USA, Austria, Turkey, China, Hungary, India, Lithuania, Estonia, Iran, Bulgaria, Russian Federation, Latvia, Poland, Italy, Israel, Greece, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Tatarstan, Czech Republic and Ukraine.
